※ 今年1月14日に、パナマ船籍でイラン国営タンカー会社（NITC）所有の石油タンカー「Sanchi（サンチ）」号が奄美大島の西300ｋｍで沈没した。
積載していた「コンデンセート（超軽質原油）」と呼ばれる揮発性の油およそ13.6万トンが流出した。
また燃料である重油は1900トンほど積んでいたのではないかと見られている。
